CALL FOR AGRI-BUSINESS PROPOSALS: YOUTH EXPORTERS

Agri-ProFocus Agri-Hub Tanzania in collaboration with the International Business Tanzania Trade Initiative (IBUTTI) have designed a business incubation support service and a 1-year export coaching activity aimed at addressing the problem of youth unemployment by empowering the youth with business and export skills that will enable them to start growth oriented businesses and become job creators rather than job seekers.

The training will equip seven (7) youth exporters with the ability to prepare feasible business plans; register and formalise their businesses; start their businesses in a way that will allow growth to their business. It will also provide the youth with business management, marketing and financial management skills that will make them good business managers and expose them to various successful owners/managers of agribusinesses from inside and outside Tanzania who have led their businesses to access international markets, so that the youth can learn international and local perspectives of managing agribusinesses. IBUTTI will also assist the young entrepreneurs to search for international markets for their products.

Who can Apply:
Tanzanian youth between the ages of 15 and 32 with feasible agri-business ideas are invited to apply. The applicants should have a defined agri-business idea related to farming and livestock keeping. The youth can apply as individuals or in a group, and should show a clear interest to start and run their own agri-businesses. The applicant(s) should also be active members of the Agri-Hub Tanzania online platform (Non-members who are interested will have to sign up for the platform before submitting their applications).

Deadline for applications is 20th September, 2013 at 1600hrs.
